Scholarships for Food Lovers

We all need food to survive, some of us definitely in more quantity than others. Some prefer quality over quantity. Some just want it in abundance. Few like to stick to just the vegetarian style while people like me want to enjoy all the blessings this nature has to offer (well I am not the nay sayer to blessings). Quite a number of people want to enjoy the variable products offered by grape industry. For all the FOODIES, I am bearer of good news. Well now you cannot just eat what you like, study what you want but can also win money for it (not talking about some bad stuff…Ahmm). If you think you are excelling in your field, you might want to try applying for one of these scholarships.

  1. Vegetarian Resource Group Scholarship

Vegetarians prefer to not eat fish, meat or fowl. Vegans do not even use the animal products such as dairy, eggs etc. Applicants should be those promoting this style of food consumption in their institute or in the community. t is awarded to US citizens only. Vegetarian Resource Group offers one $10,000 while two scholarships of $5000 to applicants. The deadline for the application is February 20,2017. I.   1. National Beef Ambassador program

If you want to be a Beef Ambassador and you are aged between 16-19, this public speaking might score you a scholarship. Scholarship is given in collaboration with American National Cattlewoman Foundation, awarding varying amount of money to first three position holders.   1. AACT National Candy Technologists Scholarship

Students interested in Confectionary industry can apply for the John Kitt Memorial Scholarship for 2016-2017 academic year. Applicant must have above 3.0 GPA, majoring in either food science, chemical science, biological science or related field. Scholarship amount is $5000, will be provided in two installments. Last date for application receiving is April 1, 2016. Application is available online and finalists will have to later submit the recommendation letter.   1. American Society of Enology and Viticulture

Students working in field of wine and grape industry are eligible to apply for the scholarship offered by ASEV. Deadline for the submission of transcripts and recommendation letter is March 1 of each academic year. Selection committee does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, nationality, gender or physical/mental illness.
