This scholarship is awarded to inbound graduate students (master’s and doctoral) at the George Washington University who shall depart to their countries of origin to employ the knowledge gathered from their studies at George Washington University. It is targeted at applicants who aim to be future leaders in their chosen courses back in their originating countries. The scholarship is available at the Froggy Bottom Campus of George Washington University in the following departments:
• College of Professional Studies
• Columbian College of Arts and Sciences
• Elliott School of International Affairs
• Graduate School of Education and Human Development
• School of Business (Executive Education program is not eligible)
• School of Engineering and Applied Science
The scholarship is open to Masters and PhD applicants from the following regions
Students from the following countries or regions:
U.S.S.R. Successor States
This scholarship is not open to applicants who have studied or worked in the U.S or other countries apart from their country of residence. This means that if you are a permanent resident of U.S, a resident alien of a country and or a U.S citizen, this scholarship is not open to you. Furthermore, applicants should have an F-1 visa and their chosen program of study must be at the Froggy Bottom campus.
Applicants must also pass the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and attained a minimum score of 600 on the paper-based exam or 100 on the internet based exam, or an IELTS overall band score of 7.5 (with no individual band below 6.0).
Deadline for application submission is 5 Feb 2018 and programmes begin in September of 2018.
The award will cover up to 18 credit hours. The grantee is to be responsible for funds from other sources for books, living, and other expenditures, and must provide proof of this support.
The scholarship is renewable annually for a maximum total of three years for those pursuing Master’s degree and five years for those pursuing doctoral programs

Applicants have to apply for admission separately through the online process and not assume that applying for the scholarship is the same as applying for admission. If this is not done, you will not be considered for the scholarship. Student must first of all go through the application process before applying for the scholarship.
